Arma Theatre
ARMA Theatre Company was founded in 1990. The name ARMA derives from the initials of the four elements: Earth, Wind, Water and Fire, in the Biblical language. Theatre is our fifth element. Over the years, we developed together a physical-visual theatre language, rich and lively. We create theatre in diverse theatrical territories: drama, tragedy, comedy, bouffon and clown. In our work, we enjoy very much the challenge of incorporating plastic-arts, dance, music, contemporary circus, video-art and architecture. We choose re-examination of man-space-public relations, as we prefer to work in public spaces, site-specific projects, in urban or natural environments.
We create a diverse and different range of theatre productions, work as artistic directors of projects and theatre festivals, we teach acting , movement and theatre courses and workshops, we direct ‘artists in residency’ projects with professional and amateur artists and in communities. From time to time we create and present plastic art works at galleries and museums.

Artists in Residency projects- throughout the years, we developed a unique way of creation, which is based on the training the ‘total creative artist’, with directing and focus that enables expression of the talents and abilities of each participant. Through individual and group research and combining diverse arts, we encourage the participants towards creation of a mutual theatrical- artistic language, one that is most suitable for the space, time and the chosen theme of work. This is how new local and international theatre projects are created with professionals, amateurs and with communities. Please see more information here- Artists in Residency projects.
