ARMA – School of Physical Theatre and Stage Arts
The ARMA (Hebrew initials of the four elements- Earth, wind Water & fire) school is founded at the Ein Hod artist's village, by Lisa Jacobson and Gil Becher, founders of ARMA theatre (since 1990). The school's program is inspired by the pedagogical methods of Jacques Lecoq, integrating further stage arts and fine arts, in order to prepare the student for genuine creation of theatre.
The objective of the school is to train the artist as a total creator, one who can create original theatre starting from his initial idea, through the development of the various elements being used in the artistic creation- to a skillful and virtuosi performance.
The  two year study program is based on inventive physical theatre and the exploration of the relations between actor-space-audience and the theatrical text. We guide the students to explore the idea of combining a diverse range of arts such as drawing, painting, circus arts, dance, music, voice, singing, design etc, into their dramatic work.
Thanks to the special location of the ARMA house of theatre and stage arts, between the Carmel Mountains and the Mediterranean Sea, and our ecological outlook on life, the school incorporates theatrical work in nature and encourages design and creation of costumes and props made of natural and recycled materials.

We grant our students a diverse and skilful "tool-kit" that prepares each student to become an independent artist, capable of researching his ideas, and manifesting them throughout the process of creation.

The Auto-cours- students are requested to stay and work independently, as part of the study program, on little acts and theatrical exercises and present their work to the teachers at the end of every study theme. The work can be done as solo work or in couples or little groups. Each Auto-cours session is followed by a feedback and discussion.
